Shizuku: The Bibliophile

Another art featuring Genei Ryodan's adorable Shizuku (and Shalnark's twin. Hee, hee). ♥

Looking back at my previous works, I wasn't very satisfied with my previous Shizuku art where I slightly changed her facial features (see: [link] ), so I decided to draw another that would look more like Togashi-sensei's design. ^^

Shizuku should've been easy to draw like Shal (mainly because they both look simple), but I wanted her to look like the original sooo much that I spent sooo much time tweaking her face - those innocent bug eyes in particular. I was feeling really frustrated cause I couldn't seem to get it right. I was up until 2 in the morning and at long last, I finally got her eyes spot-on. Even Butako remarked that my Shizuku looks 99% similar to my reference photo, and with that, I'm extremely happy. ^^

Shizuku's hair was a bit of a pain though. As much as it has been depicted in the anime, I don't want her to look like she's wearing a broom on top of her head, so I made the strands more desirable, but still fly-away. Another problem I encountered was the book. Really, the pages were so hard to draw (As I said before, I'm not very good with Geometry, so it took time before I could get the shape right). ><
